In March the club set up at the 2017 Rocky Mountain Train Show at the Denver Merchandise Mart (March 4th-5th).   The show has truly become a national event with a further expanded presence of national manufacturers.

There were a number of new items from manufacturers on display at the show this year. Athearn was previewing a new genesis loco, Intermountain had their new N scale sound SD-40's, tooling samples of their HO GP-16's and N scale Coalporters, and production samples of their GP-10's, while TW TrainWorx announced two new limited edition structures at the show.

​ScaleTrains.com was showing off their new products and gave our club  the opportunity to demonstrating two factory samples of their new Tier 4 GEVo diesels locomotives on the layout the entire weekend.  Both got lots of run time on various trains including these promo shots like this one on the left that ScaleTrains posted to Facebook..

The show bolstered over 30 clinics and presentations scheduled over the two days of the show, including a Union Pacific Steam Program update by Ed Dickens, a presentation by Jim Wrinn, editor of trains magazine entitled "Railroad at a Crossroads in the 21st Century" and a presentation by ColoRail on the reboot and history of the Ski Train. There was event a film crew interviwing and capturing video for a new NetFlix series.

For our part in the our layout setup Friday went great actually finished early by 5pm since we had a great turn out from the members, operation during the show didn't have any major issues and tear-down was smooth.
