2023 Trains Show Highlights

Here are some of the highlights and pictures from shows the club had done in 2023.

Train Expo Colorado (TECO)

February 4th & 5th, 2023
Colorado Springs Event Center
Colorado Springs, CO.

Our first train show for 2023 was the long running Train Expo Colorado (TECO) Show & Swap Meet in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The CGWRR returns to the TECO show for the first time in 2016.  The show features layouts, vendors clinics to demonstrate specific modeling skills.

Great Train Show – Salt Lake City

March 11th & 12th, 2023
UT- Utah State Fairpark
Salt Lake City, UT.

The club ventured to Salt Lake City for the Great Train Show at the Utah State Fair Grounds the weekend of March 11th. Its our first time bringing the layout to Utah for a train show. The  layout setup went good Friday although we had to make track repairs to a module that broke free in the trailer on the way to Utah from Colorado.
Afterwards a visit Salt Lake City would not be complete without going to Red Iguana’s 2 so we had dinner there Friday night.

Rocky Mountain Train Show – Spring

April 1st -2nd, 2023

The CGWRR attended the Rocky Mountain Train Show – Spring, which was held on April 1st and 2nd, 2023 at the National Western Complex in Denver, CO. The show was organized by the Rocky Mountain Division of the Train Collectors Association and featured exhibits of all scales and gauges, as well as clinics, demonstrations, and activities for families and children. The show was the largest model train show west of the Mississippi River and attracted thousands of visitors and enthusiasts.

The CGWRR displayed ourmodular layout at the show, which included realistic and detailed scenes  The club received positive feedback and appreciation from the visitors and other exhibitors at the show. The club’s Facebook page posted several photos and videos of their layout and thanked everyone who supported and attended the show.

RAILS IN THE ROCKIES

September 23rd-24th, 2023
Estes Park Event Center
Estes Park, CO.

The club participated in the 26th annual RAILS IN THE ROCKIES train show, which was held on September 23rd-24th, 2023 at the Estes Park Event Center in Estes Park, Colorado. The show, organized by the Estes Valley Model Railroaders, featured working exhibits of all gauges from the tiny “z” to the toy train “G” gauge along with British and German railroads5. The show also included fun family activities such as the Estes Club “Kids Layout”, the Seek and Search game, the LEGO Layout and the Youth in Model Railroading layouts. The town of Estes Park provided free shuttle service between the show and the Visitor Center and Bond Park.

Model Railroad Expo

Boulder County Fairgrounds
December 8th-10th, 2023 – Longmont, CO.

We were excited to add the long-standing annual Model Train Expo, hosted by the Boulder Model Railroad Club in Longmont, Colorado marking our debut appearance at the show.

A plethora of vendors were there showcasing a diverse array of both prototype and model railroading items, making it the perfect opportunity to find unique and intriguing Christmas gifts.
