2022 Train Shows Highlights
Here are the highlights and some pictures from the shows we’ve attended in 2022.
Rocky Mountain Train Show
National Western Complex
Denver, Colorado
The spring 2022 Rocky Mountain Train Show (largest train event in the Denver area) was held on April 2-3, 2022 at the National Western Complex was a huge success. Attendance for the event on both days was amazing, we had several alumni members come by to visit the layout.
The show when really well for us, we didn’t have any issues getting into the hall and setting up the layout on Friday which featured an extension to the canyon scene with a new module we are calling Cottonwood Creek which featured to rock tunnel bores. NMRA Nebraska West Central Division
28th Annual Train Show
D&N Event Center
North Platte, Nebraska
The NMRA Nebraska West-Central Division train show in North Platte, Nebraska was held on April 9-10, 2022. The show was our second show in as many weeks and went really well for us.
This was the first time we’ve done this show since 2012. the club was able to also rail fan around the Bailey Yard complex in North Platte. An average of 139 trains and over 14,000 railroad cars pass through Bailey Yard every day, and the yard sorts approximately 3,000 cars daily using the yard’s two humps yard. So there was plenty of train watching outside the show itself.

25TH RAILS IN THE ROCKIES
Stanley Fairgrounds Event Center Complex
Estes Park, CO.
Rails In The Rockies train show was held on September 24th and 25th, 2022 and celebrated its 25th year in 2022 and our club is honored to have been part of the show through the years.
Overall the show was great, it was the first show for the revamped cement modules we worked on through the summer. The group had a great time, in addition to the show we toured a Denver & Salt Lake layout and had a cookout at the YMCA of the Rockies Saturday night instead of going out this year. At the end of the show we were given 25th anniversary patches by the organizer.
